On a whim we entered Keeper into a game's challenge held in Worcester, MA, hosted by the Massachusetts Digital Games Institute of Becker College. This past Friday seven of us piled into two cars and drove three hours from our base of operations in Burlington, VT to compete and I am proud to say it was well worth the ordeal. Upon entering it was apparent that our game's appealing visuals and ecological message attracted players of all kinds. Both fellow competitors and judges alike complemented our game for it's approachability and moral statement, and we even got a chance to have a few children play who happened to be in attendance.

The day after we showcased our game, we attended the reward ceremony where each category winner would be announced. While we didn't win the full $2000 prize, we did walk away with a first place trophy for "Serious Games" and the "People's Choice Award," as well as $250 as a cash prize.

After we were awarded our prizes, I was interviewed by a Gamasutra columnist who was covering the competition and even had my quote featured in their article here.
