After evolving our idea slightly more, the team and I decided to add a platforming element to the game in addition to gardening. Our vision is now to have the players complete platforming levels while their plants are growing in order to make story progress as well as unlock more plants to grow and areas to explore. It was now my duty to envision such a world in which all these things were possible, and so I began sketching some very basic ideas for potential gardening/platforming environments.

While I originally planned to draw these up in Adobe Illustrator to make them more presentable, after having shown them to my artist it seems they successfully communicated my intent regardless. I also played around with the most basic variables for physics and platforming, leading to an eventual greyblock level we were able to test during a QA sessions with some promising results. In addition to run times, I collected data on the opinions of nearly every aspect of the player's jump. From there, I plan internalize the data I received and improve upon the platforming elements so I can move onto the first actual environment greyblock that my environment artist will eventually contextualize. I'm glad to say the team and I have hit a good stride, and we plan to try and maintain this pace for as long as possible.
